Position Title: Mental Health Technician

Location: Rocky Mount, NC

Description:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. The Mental Health Technician will play a crucial role in providing direct care and support to individuals receiving mental health services. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders in a residential or clinical setting.

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.

  • Monitor and document individual's progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment interventions.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.

  • Facilitate group activities and therapeutic exercises to promote socialization, coping skills, and emotional regulation.

  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers, to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes for individuals.

  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals by enforcing program rules and regulations.

  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of mental health.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.

  • Previous experience working in a mental health setting preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals with mental health disorders.

  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
